Matthew Forbes 1995-96

Matthew’s King’s era was characterized by some of the greatest King’s teachers of the 1990’s, MESSERS BADGER, Wilson, Skeenes and Percival to name a few while he studied German, Geography and Economics at A-Level, before embarking on a gap year to New Zealand. Following his years out, Andrew went up to Oxford where he studied German and Philosophy before commencing an early career in strategy consulting, a job which he maintained for 10 years and which allowed him to travel across the globe, starting as an analyst and climbing the career ladder until he reached Partner.

Matthew’s career continued to progress when he joined Balfour Beatty, the construction firm, as Head of Strategy, before moving into more operational leadership roles as Chief Operating Officer at the engineering firm, AECOM. Most recently, becoming Vice President EMEA for CBRE’s Facilities Management business.

Matthew has made the decision to move back up to Cheshire with his wife Joanna and three young children, Isla, Benji and Leo, after 20 years of living in London and he still remains in contact with many of his friends from King’s.
