Peter Illingworth, former member of staff, died on Monday, 5 August. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2024 and despite treatment from The Christie Hospital and the efforts of an amazing team of carers and district nurses he gradually lost the fight against the disease. He remained calm and positive to the end relying on his Christian faith for reassurance and peace.

Peter taught at King's for 34 years, joining the school in 1980, mostly teaching Physics. At various points he also taught General Science, PSHE and Computing and he was a Year Head for many years. He will be sadly missed.
