Nick Wrigley

R N (‘Nick’) Wrigley (1951, Staff 1954-71) died in November 2023, aged 90. A successful sportsman as well as an academic, Nick left King’s
to read Geography at Cambridge, and returned to join the School's staff. In 1971, he left to take up first a deputy headship in Darlington, then a headship at the newly built Tarporley High School in 1973. He later moved to Padgate College, Warrington, later part of MMU, the base for
his final role before retirement, as Deputy Director of the North West Educational Management Centre, in effect guiding and educating Heads
in schools throughout the area. Outside the classroom, Nick is best known as a highly respected master i/c cricket; he was also very active within the Cheshire Schools Cricket Association, including an extended period as President.
