David Moore (Staff, 1974-81) died in March 2024, aged 81. He joined King's as an English teacher, and immediately took to every aspect of
life at King's, soon being appointed as what turned out to be an innovative Head of General Studies, among several other roles, in all of
which he gained immeasurable respect from pupils and staff. He was also an extremely committed cricket coach at several different levels -
the outstanding player at U12 is still awarded the 'Big Ginge' trophy each year in his honour! David moved on to higher things first as Deputy
Head at Carre's Grammar School in Sleaford, then as Head at Ilford Grammar School and St Dunstan's College in south London. He was
also a respected school governor at King's for a while.
