Allan Sherratt

Allan died in February 2024, aged 74. Allan was a considerable sportsman whilst at King's, representing the school in both rugby and cricket,
and continued to be extremely well-known and well-respected in sporting circles locally throughout his life. After King's, he worked in
insurance, then car hire, as well as playing cricket to a high standard.

He was also involved in compering sportsman's dinners, including fundraising for King's overseas sports tours, and became heavily involved administratively in rugby league, in particular with lower league clubs. He was also part of a group of friends who grouped together to buy and very successfully run as a co-operative a local pub, the Church House in Bollington, to save it from closure!
